Nickel Chrome Plating

nickel chrome plating

Nickel chrome plating services from Eastern Plating create a lustrous, silver white appearance. Nickel chrome plating has low thermal and electrical conductivities, high resistance to corrosion and oxidation, excellent strength, and toughness at higher temperatures. With a melting point of 1453° C, nickel chrome plating can be magnetized.

The electrolytic nickel coatings and decorative nickel platings of nickel chrome plating are typically used to:

  • protect and improve the appearance of metals, (i.e. iron, steel, brass, & copper)
  • serve as a corrosion barrier, and
  • act as a leveling substrate for chrome.

Eastern Plating's nickel chrome plating services provide a very flexible production range in regards to size, volume, and thickness.  Our highly trained chrome plating representatives are happy to assist you in finding the nickel chrome plating to match your needs.

Nickel Chrome Plating Capacities (per finish type)

Barrel Nickel Plating:  Up to 9,000 pounds per day.

Rack Nickel Chrome Plating:  Up to 45,000 square feet per day.

Common Applications & Specifications of Nickel Chrome Plating

The protective nature, ductility, and attractive appearance of nickel chrome plating make it a popular coating for products in the food industry, metal stampings, automotive components, and fabricated parts for industrial applications. Commercially, nickel chrome plating is deposited in thicknesses ranging from 0.0002”- 0.0010”, depending upon the intended application and the corrosion protection required, the majority of which is 0.0002”-0.0003”, commonly known as “Commercial Nickel”.
